DMCI Works Double Time on Infra Projects

Premier construction company, D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI) is working double time to complete its big-ticket infrastructure projects to help boost the Build, Build, Build program of the Philippine government.

As of June 30, DMCI has completed 61.93 percent of the entire LRT Line 2 East Extension project. The train viaduct was completed in 2017 while the two additional stations will be completed by next month. The last package which is funded by JICA is part of the government hybrid project.

This includes the electromechanical system (EMS) and trackworks needed to operate the four kilometer train line was awarded to the joint venture of Marubeni Corporation and DMCI last March.

"Marubeni has procured the EMS systems and we have started the installation works. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect to finish the entire east extension project by the fourth quarter of 2020," said DMCI President and CEO Jorge A. Consunji.

The LRT Line 2 East Extension project was designed to accommodate an additional 80,000 passengers daily, one-third more than the current LRT 2 average daily ridership of 240,000.

Skyway Stage 3, another high-impact infrastructure project of DMCI, is 72.67 percent complete, as of June 30. Its Plaza Dilao off-ramp along Quirino Avenue in the City of Manila was opened to motorists last July 22.

DMCI expects to complete an additional 12.33 percent of the Skyway Stage 3 Section 1 and 2 by the end of the year, which will raise its year-end accomplishment to 85.00 percent.
